ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER - CHARLOTTE

Position Summary:  Will work in the Architecture Department under the Department Manager.

Basic Duties:

  • Research, program, plan, design, and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, building codes, and building materials and systems.
  • Produce conceptual plans, renderings, and design documents in Revit.
  • Plan and program layout of projects; coordinates and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
  • Work with the Project Manager, may direct, supervise, and check activities of in-house engineers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project.
  • Work in tandem with highly collaborative multi-discipline design teams within M3.
  • Assist in research and coordination of materials and products for project specifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and able to interact with clients and co-workers in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Is a self-starter, detailed oriented and has exceptional organization skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability, including excellent communication abilities.
  • 2+ years of architectural design experience.
  • Understanding and knowledge of building codes, building construction, building systems and site requirements.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office suite is required. AutoCAD a plus.
  • Candidate must be able to occasionally travel domestically to other M3 offices and project sites to provide field support for new and ongoing projects as needed.
  • Pass a background check.
