PIPING DESIGNER - CHARLOTTE

Position Summary:

• As a piping designer you will be working from PIDs and preliminary information on a variety of Industrial/Process, Mining, Manufacturing, and Pharmaceutical Projects to develop piping and equipment layouts using 3D modeling of piping systems and equipment in a 3D model environment.

Basic Duties:

• Design and 3D model piping systems in a multidisciplinary design and be responsible for specifications and selection of materials and equipment.
• Prepare piping construction drawings, plot plans, general arrangements, piping isometrics, and pipe support drawings.
• Assist with the coordination of 3D model activities including input, interference checking, and coordination with other physical related disciplines.
• Provide field assistance and front-end information gathering at project sites when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years’ relative experience is required.
• Proficient experience using 3D modeling software such as Plant 3D, CAD Worx, and Revit.
• Experience using 2D software such as AutoCAD.
• Experience with MS Office products, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
• Must be familiar with industry codes and ASME B31.1 & B31.3 Piping Codes and have a working knowledge of piping specifications and the selection of materials and equipment.
• Must be able to work in a project team and maintain a project schedule, be a self-starter, detail-oriented and have exceptional organizational skills.
• Must be able to interact with clients and co-workers in a professional and respectful manner and work in a team environment sharing roles and responsibilities, with limited supervision.

Desired Qualifications:

• Must have 3D piping modeling experience.
• Construction field experience a plus.
• Experience with Laser Scanning and working with Point Clouds.
